Now explain to me why I would want to remove my EGR valve? The EGR valve is dumping exhaust into your intake manifoldand you want to make sure it can dump in as much as possible? These things don't need to be cleaned.

There seems to be a lot of effort on this site going into diverting crankcase fumes however on an indirect diesel I have these have caused no problem since fixin' the EGR valve some 50K miles ago inlet tract is clean as a whistle just a hint of oil. Any comments welcome. cheers Nic

This post relates to my Audi A3 2011 2.0 tdi black edition (11 plate) I have recently gotten an engine management light and having had the opportunity to get a fault code reader to look at it, it mentions the DPF and EGR valve. I'm thinking that perhaps this is clogged and requires cleaning. I wanted to have a go at this, but being an absolute Checked/tested and OK; -MAF sensor (electrics and sensor ok) -Vacuum hoses (manually pulled a vacuum and it holds, pressure on main line at 20mmHG) -turbo hoses not leaking, good seals. -EGR electrics as spec. -N75 solenoid recently replaced (previous ‘moo’ issue. -Air Intake Manifold, Throttle body and EGR valve all cleaned. .
