These days removing that system is much more uncommon. Keeping the EGR has an advantage in that the engine coolant heats up quicker.

Now explain to me why I would want to remove my EGR valve? The EGR valve is dumping exhaust into your intake manifoldand you want to make sure it can dump in as much as possible? These things don't need to be cleaned.

There seems to be a lot of effort on this site going into diverting crankcase fumes however on an indirect diesel I have these have caused no problem since fixin' the EGR valve some 50K miles ago inlet tract is clean as a whistle just a hint of oil. Any comments welcome. cheers Nic
