Just to eliminate the usual issues: 1. I am wearing the external HR sensor when trying to connect it to the 235. 2. I have tried holding the 235 directly against the H7. 3. I have confirmed the H7 is working, as it connects with my Polar app on my phone just fine and I get HR readings through the app. 4.

I would love to upgrade to the FR235 but just cannot justify it when I have a 220 that does everything I need. I have a HR strap. I did get annoyed at Garmin for their short turn over cycle. Especially at what their devices cost. My biggest worry would be upgrading to the 230/235 just as the 245 or whatever is next comes out.
